The Burton Panther Cross Country team ventured out to Top Tier Training this morning for their season opening meet. The Mud, Sweat, & Cheers Relay is a unique cross country meet that pits teams of four runs against a 1.5 mile loop filled with mud holes, hay bales, and the Texas sun. The Panthers entered two relays. The top three finishers for the Panthers were Hunter Hancock (Sr), Devlin Douglas (So) and Andre Ortiz (Sr). The Lady Panthers fielded one relay. Finishing first among the Lady Panthers were Peyton Sigsbee (Jr), Avery Applewhite (Jr), and Melanie Woods (So). The Burton Panthers continue their season next Saturday, August 26th at the Caldwell Invitational in Davidson Creek Park.
JH Volleyball will begin practice on Monday, August 21st at 7am. All athletes must have a physical on file in order to participate. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Thaler.

My name is Pamela Wise, and I am super happy to be joining Burton ISD! I have over 20 years of experience in the classroom, and I’ve taught high school English for the last 13 years. I am looking forward to working with the great staff, students, and community of Burton.
My husband, Ron, and I love to travel to see family and friends and visit new places and go on new adventures. We’ve been to many states in the USA, but the furthest we’ve traveled to is Germany to meet a friend that I’ve had for over 35 years. We were matched in high school through a pen pal program. Ron and I also enjoy bowling, getting together with friends and family, taking our pontoon boat to the lake, and spending time at home as we tend to cattle (especially bottle feeding the babies that have lost their mommas), watch our favorite shows on tv, and love on our fur babies.

Hi, I am Timothy Honeycutt, my family and I are super excited to be joining the Burton Panther Family! I have taught Junior High math for 6 years while coaching at the high school level for the last 17 years. In 17 years of coaching, I have coached football, basketball, baseball, track, and golf. I graduated from Sam Houston State University where I met my wife Laura who works for Washington County Tractor as an accountant. We have a 1 year old son, Kashton who keeps us on our toes. I am thrilled to be working so much closer to home. As a family we enjoy BBQing, Hunting, fishing, and spending time with our family. I am looking forward to being part of a great community and school. GO PANTHERS!!!

Burton High School Volleyball 2-a-days starts tomorrow. Attached is the schedule.
The Burton Panther Cross Country team begins 2-a-days tomorrow, Monday, July 31 @ 7am - 1030am. Meet at the high school softball fields. The first part of practice will be off campus; it is important to arrive promptly by 7am. The workouts will be Monday through Friday of this week and next. The workouts are for high schoolers only, and are mandatory. Additionally, all incoming 9th grade and 11th grade athletes MUST have a recent (Aug 2022 to present) physical to participate. Athletes planning to run cross country but participating in football or volleyball will attend football or volleyball 2-a-days. Athletes planning to run cross country but participating in cheer or band need to meet with Coach Ramsey to coordinate practice schedules.
