What a great time to be a Burton Panther and what an amazing 1 st semester of the school year!!!
Welcome to the Burton Independent School District weekly update. Bond Project information will be shared as it pertains to the planning and construction of our new facilities. Contracts have been reviewed by district legal consult and are being completed with contractors. Site-work is on standby to begin as soon as these contracts are initiated. Geotechnical Engineering Lab is verifying prices as well as checking the schedule and turn around times for material testing. The Surveyor has received the AutoCAD files so they can build their models and begin setting benchmark stakes on site (location with known elevation and coordinates to set standards (typically there will be three or four benchmarks per area).
The call in for “locates” (811- underground utilities ie. Gas line, sewer, water or communications)
has been out to the district in preparation for dirt-work to begin. The re-bidding is complete and the areas where we did not have initial bid proposal numbers have been filled in. These cost projections are trending in a very positive direction. It has worked in our favor to re-bid those items. A few contractors will be submitting offers on substitute products to be considered in the re-bid process that will help keep the project in budget with the end result being to get a quality product either in or under budget.
