“I don’t know how you describe it, it’s something that’s with you forever, it’s something that nobody can take away from you and it’s never really gone.” - Rick Mears 4x Indy 500 Winner
The Burton FFA State Champion Livestock Judging team competed at the National FFA competition in Indianapolis, Indiana. They competed with teams all over the nation in hopes of being one of the top 4 in the nation. The team of Chet Fritsch, Waylon Hinze, Weston Hinze and Tanna Thiel finished second place at the 94th National FFA Convention and Expo’s Livestock Contest, earning the title of Reserve National Champion.
The team was recognized during the third general session of the convention at Lucas Oil Stadium. It advanced to the national competition after placing first at the Texas State FFA Livestock Competition in April at the Brazos County Expo Center.
