What a great time to be a Burton Panther!!!

Welcome October and Fall, even though the weather is not much of an indication that cooler temperatures have arrived quite yet. 

Come join in the festivities of National Night Out in the Burton Community on Tuesday, October 3rd, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Oliver Whitener – Roy Winkler Pavilions for fun and games, bounce house, crafts, and more. Hot dogs, chips, and drinks will be provided. 

The Texas A&M School of Nursing Mobile Clinic is in Burton every Wednesday, offering school-based primary care for students, faculty, staff, and community members. This week, their services are available on October 4th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Burton ISD Central Administration Office. The following week, times will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and alternate back and forth weekly. Services include primary care (in person and telehealth), acute and chronic conditions, health promotion, disease prevention, head-start physicals, DOT physicals, preparticipation sports physicals, health screenings, vaccinations, dental screenings/sealants (annually), and tele-behavioral health. Walk-ins welcome or call 979.436.0587 to schedule an appointment.

The Burton City Council issued a Proclamation to Burton ISD in celebration of World Teachers’ Day coming up on October 5th. Mayor Karen Buck provided a blue ribbon in recognition of all of the hard work our teachers do to make Burton ISD so successful. Stop by Flown the Coop in Burton to nominate your favorite teacher on October 6th or 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the chance to win cool prizes.  

Facilities Building Project information update: Storm drainage installation by Boothe Construction Services continues to progress across the construction area. Hellas plans to have asphalt poured on Tuesday. Coordinating foundation for stadium bleachers with Sturdi Steel. Having a conversation with Moeller Electric regarding the scoreboard framework from Spectrum, Musco Sports Lighting, and the sound system for the stadium.
