Superintendent's Letter

What a great time to be a Burton Panther!!!

We are excited to welcome our students, staff, families, and the community to what is expected to be an awesome 2023-2024 Burton Panther school year.  All 585 students, 363 @ Elementary and 222 @ Secondary are ready to engage in some absolutely amazing learning! As new students join our school district, we want to promote a “Start with Hello” campaign where we express a positive and proactive attitude of embracing our uniqueness and differences, setting the framework for forming friendships, and providing opportunities to engage in helping each other be a part of all of the great things happening in Burton ISD.

Bond Project information will be shared as it pertains to the planning and construction of our new facilities.  DSA Construction Management Job Superintendent Rob Ogletree, Project Manager Stad Tomlinson, and Architect for the building project Antonio Naylor report that Boothe Construction has finished back filling the first leg of storm drainage and that area has passed all testing. The next section of the storm drainage should begin today. Hellas has stripped the track and have begun moisture conditioning the material and spreading base on the track. The inside curb area will also be set up today to prepare for concrete on Friday, 9/2. The field will be next. Once the storm drainage is past the next phases, there will be enough area for Champion to complete more dirt work.

Burton ISD welcomes your involvement, appreciates everyone’s effort to collaborate, and is thankful for your support throughout this process. Please email questions to bondinfo@stu.burtonisd.net. Please feel free to come visit Burton Independent School District and thank you in advance for taking time to find out more about our schools, our professional staff, our exemplary students, and our excellent academic programs. Burton Schools are a perfect place to get an education that will prepare your child for a bright future.

There is a tremendous amount of community support that goes into the success of our programs in Burton ISD. We appreciate everyone who helps make a positive impact on our schools. All of us working cooperatively make Burton ISD better together. So very proud to be a BURTON PANTHER! Lots of great things are going on this school year. Follow all of our activities on the Burton ISD website @ www.burtonisd.net, check out the Burton ISD app, and keep up with the latest happenings on the Burton ISD Facebook page and other social media venues.

The pride of the Burton Panthers is embedded in all of us whether we are a student, an alumni, a community member, a staff member and employee, a parent, board member and/or a proud supporter and in many cases all of the above. We love our Panthers and like to think that the culture we are providing in educating our students is a reason why parents want their children to attend Burton ISD. We value our school district and always put students first. For the 2023-2024 school year, Learning is Llamazing as we Rise Up @ Burton ISD!!! Have a blessed day and an awesome school year! GO BIG RED!!!
